What I like About This Toaster
If you have children, amaze them when they see how the bread automatically goes down without having to press any levers. You don’t even need to worry about your kids getting burnt since the aluminum is cool to touch. It’s so easy to use that they might even do your toasting for you everyday!
The ring has a nice, homely tone to it unlike many other toasters’ ears-piercing ring. So no more worries about waking your neighbors in the wee hours of the morning or when you decide to have a late night snack. Talking about snacks, this toaster toasts frozen waffles amazingly!
What Are The Features?
The removable warming rack adds a lovely touch not just in sight but also in use. It warms and reheats rolls, bagels, muffins, croissants and many other already toasted items pretty well. The two extra-wide slots are a great help but the toast loading slot still seem inadequate for bigger and longer bagels and rolls. If you buy whole grain bread, you have to put the slices in sideways. If it still doesn’t work, you have to do some trimming and shaving so it is time-consuming. It doesn’t help if you’re rushing to work and you might have to choose either to toast just bread or wake up earlier!
However, thumbs up for the time-saving clean-up with the removable crumb tray. This toaster is also supposed to toast two sides precisely and evenly. Yet I find that it does not toast one slice of bread perfectly on both sides but it does a better job with two slices.
Could Be Better
A point to note for this toaster review is that the bread seems to be toasted more towards the top than the bottom. Although it is not very striking when normal slices of bread are toasted, it is quite apparent when English muffins are toasted, leaving the top wholly toasted whereas the bottom is not even brown in the least. You might have to turn the toast upside down if you’re quite particular in getting a fully even toast.
Additionally, there might be also some items that you have to defrost before getting a good toast, such as muffins. There was a toaster review where the toast continuously rise and lower into the toaster just a few days after the warranty period was over. Freaky, I know! You might want to take that into consideration whether the price is worth the breakdown of the toaster just a little after one year.
Best Design Toaster
If you’re totally smitten with this space age toaster, by all means, go ahead and buy it. Yes, it might have additionally special features that other toasters don’t have, such as the cord storage, which is a good safety precaution when the toaster is not in use.
However, to be honest, for the price of $79.95 at Amazon (which is the lowest that I can find), I think you can get a better deal. After all, you really want a toaster that can do the job. Nevertheless, you don’t have to take my advice if you’re into the Wow factor and are willing to pay the hefty price for questionable reliability. It is really your choice at the end of the day.
